TMS Software, LLC, developed this app for the Claris Community. It is a FileMaker solution that finds the shipping status of a UPS parcel shipment. You will need to register and create an account with UPS.

This FileMaker solution is designed to connect you to the UPS RESTful API to submit a tracking number that then returns the shipping status such as Delivered, In-Transit, Shipped, etc.

This is an extension meaning it is not designed to be a final solution. This is for you to use to copy, edit and incorporate the script into your own shipping solution.

This is only one small part of the overall UPS API, which includes other features such as address validations, rates, etc. If you need a full shipping solution, we suggestion you check out NRG Software which has a full shipment API implementation solution for FileMaker. While NRG isn't free like this, it offers the whole gamet of API features plus works with scales and shipping label printers. But if all you need is shipping status, this one is free.

I've used it for a number of clients that wish to have delivery status updates in their invoicing systems. One easy implementation is to run a schedule script once an hour searching for invoices in the last week that have a tracking number and are not yet delivered, and the API then provides status updates to the Invoicing shipments.
