TMS Software, LLC, developed this app for the Claris Community. It is a FileMaker solution using Custom Functions that generate a JSON list of Holidays and their dates for a given Year.

The only input is Year and the result is a JSON array of holiday names and dates.

Most organizations have their own policy of what holidays they observer and the default list here are standard observed USA holidays. But you can edit the Holiday Custom Function to return your organization's holidays.

The purpose is that FileMaker solution business logic often needs to determine what days are holidays for everything from time card entries to order shipment scheduling, and this makes it easy to return the year's holidays to test if a particular date is on a holiday.

The included Custom Functions are:

• TMS Holidays ( _Year )
• TMS Easter ( YR )
• TMS Date Is Holiday ( _Date )
• TMS Date of Month Occ ( _Month ; _Year ; _Day of Week ; _Occurrence )
• TMS Holiday Observed ( _Date )
• TMS Date ( Input ; Input Format ; Output Format ; Separator )

Note that a rather complicated Easter Custom Function is included since that particular holiday is difficult to calculate, but is beyond the scope of explaining for this solution.
